Here is the trailer of Machotaildrop to keep you busy whilst I put my shit back together and take the time to write a long post about the disasters that have taken over my life lately (in case you wonder, I didn’t decide to spend the first few weeks of 2010 in Haiti and I do understand I need to put things into prospective but in the other hand this is my blog and I’ll complain if I want to).

Oh and if you happened to have enjoy thoroughly this early snow season, you recently got a promotion, are planning an amazing surfing trip or just bought yourself a love nest, by any mean refrain to spill your joy on this blog. This is the blog of misery until further notice.

Me, Myself and I

Todd Richards‘ life has been documented in the upcoming “Me, Myself and I” by award winning movie director Josh Landan. Ok I’ll admit it I don’t know much about either of them, but I am determined to do something about it!

“Me, Myself and I” is the life story of Todd Richards, a guy who started snowboarding in infancy and has now 19 years of professional snowboarding under his belt, as well as numerous trophies, features in movies and video games (Coolboarder 2001, ESPN’s Winter X Games Snowboarding and Transworld Snowboarding).

Nixonnow.com says about the movie “This feature length documentary will surely entertain, educate and captivate its audience. Todd created success with his wit, competitive drive, and positive outlook on life- inspiring the hero in all of us.”

It hardly gets any better: an inspiring character with a good sense of humor, a good story line, good music and gnarly tricks.

The New York Surf Film Festival

I really wish I was spending some time in New York this month… although I wouldn’t want to leave Vancouver you know, because there are good things happening here too (remember this and this…).

So this month in New York there is the New York Surf Film Festival from the 25th to the 27th and it must be hot because everyone is talking about it… and since I have time for procrastination I am going through all the trailers I find.

Alterna action films releases Elektro

I’ve watched this trailer about 5 times already and it’s not even been an hour since I came across it!

Alterna is a 10 year old film production company based in Vancouver, founded by Carlo Wein. Push.ca interviewed him last July when they were still editing and yes, the man has a hell of a sweet job!

The film isn’t out yet but the trailer is goo-ood!
They absolutely nailed it with eye-candy shots, excellent editing including 80s pop graphics and, most of all, electro music, which is not used enough in board sports movies!

On top of giving me the urge to hit the mountains, the music brings back memories from summers in Spain where I would spend my nights dancing my head off to music that was exactly that. Woot woot euro-electro!

I can’t wait to see the movie.
Needless to say that Alterna is now in my list of cool companies I would love to work for.

Absinthe Films in Vancouver

Absinthe Films are about to release their latest snowboard movie “Neverland” and they are screening in Vancouver on the 10th of September! I am so excited right now I think I am going to have insomnia again.

The SOI tour takes an environmentally responsible approach to bringing the anticipation of winter to art house theaters around the globe. Absinthe will tour North America and Europe to spread awareness of environmental and social issues important to all snowboarders and will donate $2 of every ticket sold to support non-profit social and environmental organizations. Everyone is asked to do their part to reduce our carbon footprint and help the cause by using alternate transport to these events- walk, bike, skate, hop the train or carpool- it matters to us all.”
